“It’s never too late to make changes and achieve your dreams”
Raised in New Zealand, I left school at 15 and arrived in Australia a few years later with only $300 to my name. It took a long time for the answer of what I wanted to do with my life to finally present itself… and it turned out it had been waiting in the wings all along.
Starting in my thirties, I turned a lifelong fascination with animals into a career, completing my high school qualifications and enrolling in Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University. After graduating, I worked for several years in busy vet clinics and hospitals in Perth as an emergency and critical care clinician before making the decision to bring my own vision for pet care to life. I invested my life savings into purchasing a small clinic in a great suburb. This has now evolved into The Vet Connection, a local clinic with the highest standards of service and care.
I believe animal health is the shared responsibility of both vet practitioners and owners. I’m driven to form collaborative relationships with the dog and cat owners I work with, showing them how to optimise their pet’s health and happiness through an all-encompassing approach, which includes the right nutrition, good exercise and smart training techniques.
Success can come at any age
I’m an example of the fact that even if you don’t have a lot, if you set yourself goals and stick to them, you can accomplish amazing things. My journey to where I am today hasn’t always been easy but I am proud of what I have achieved. Beyond this, I’m also happily married to a beautiful wife and a hands-on father to three gorgeous and very active small children.
As well as motivating people to create the best lives for their pets, my plan is to share my story, make connections and help others to create the best life for themselves! Follow my blog for regular insights, tips and inspiration.
